Alpha Tau Omega
and The LeaderShape Institute
A Commitment To Leadership Development
Twenty-one years ago this summer, ATO kicked off the first LeaderShape Institute. During the last two decades, nearly 25,000 students including thousands of ATOs have been “shaped.” Graduates include Google founder Larry Page and former Michigan and Chicago Bears quarterback Brian Griese.
Thanks to the generous donations of countless alumni, ATO has invested more than $1 million in LeaderShape. Over the years, ATO determined that when three or more brothers from the same chapter attend LeaderShape, their LeaderShape experience and knowledge has a much better chance to positively impact the chapter. In order to maximize this experience, ATO promotes LeaderShape at Allerton and Chapter-Based LeaderShape.
Allerton Sessions: $950/person (up to 80 percent can be paid by ATO scholarships which makes total per person cost just $190)
Chapter-Based Sessions: $700/person (up to 100 percent could be paid by ATO chapter-designated funds)
The ATO Foundation scholarship distribution follows a strategic plan, which offers all chapters the same opportunity to reserve spots for this summer’s Allerton sessions.
Following are the 2007 general fund Allerton session LeaderShape scholarship guidelines:
1. The chapter must send a minimum of three brothers to the same session.
2. After ATO scholarships have been applied, the cost per person is $190 for the first three people from each chapter. THIS REMARKABLE PRICE IS AVAILABLE ONLY FOR THE FIRST FIVE CHAPTERS THAT RESPOND AND RESERVE THEIR SPOTS WITH PAYMENT.
3. Half of the $190 is required as a non-refundable down payment ($285 for three men). Available scholarships will be awarded on a first come first serve basis determined when ATO receives chapter down payments.
4. Checks must be made out to Alpha Tau Omega and sent to Sandra Ross at ATO NHQ. The balance owed by the chapter is due May 1.
5. If a chapter wishes to send more than three men (up to five additional men), the cost would be $760/person for those additional men with a down payment of $85 per additional man. Balance due on May 1.
6. All 2007 national sessions will take place outside of Champaign, Illinois at the Robert Allerton Park and Conference Center. The dates are as follows:
Session 1: May 15-20
Session 2: June 19-24
Session 3: June 26-July 1
Session 4: July 10-15
Session 5: July 17-22
Session 6: July 24-29
Session 7: July 31-August 5
Session 8: August 7-12
The two ATO sponsored Chapter-Based sessions will be in Indiana and Alabama the week of May 14-19. The cost of Chapter-Based is $700 per person; and the scholarships described above do not apply. If the chapter has any ATO Foundation educational account money or LeaderShape funds, it can be used to pay for Chapter-based LeaderShape.

During this highly interactive & energizing program,
your chapter's leaders will:
- Learn how you can work together better, as a chapter,
to accomplish your goals.
- Understand how to deal with the challenge of apathy.
- Develop ideas to make your chapter even more successful.
- Learn how to effectively set goals with other chapter
members.
- Meet and learn from other outstanding young men and women
from all across the country who are leaders in organizations.
In addition, participants at The LeaderShape Institute
create a Breakthrough Blueprint to utilize when they leave.
The objective of each participant's project is to produce
extraordinary results in their organization during the next
year. Imagine the extraordinary improvements that can be
made in your own chapter! The LeaderShape Institute
guides participants in developing the necessary skills to
effectively implement their projects and to do so with a
commitment to lead with integrity.
In 1986, the men of ATO created The LeaderShape Institute.
Their vision was to provide an exceptional leadership development
experience to college-aged men and women. They achieved their
vision! Today, The LeaderShape Institute is highly regarded
as an intensive and energizing program that has graduated
over 18,000 men and women from across the country. Members
of ATO participate actively in the national sessions of LeaderShape each
year — continuing to show their commitment to leadership
and the development of undergraduate men and chapters. |
