There are few extracurricular activities that are as challenging as they are rewarding than chapter president. Attitude and understanding are everything and seeing that spark in a chapters is the ultimate reward.
"There's no way that your chapter can fall into a downward spiral when your leadership has a smile on their face and are excited and passionate about ATO,” said RJ Taylor, Austin Peay '10.
To help cultivate these ambitions, the National Fraternity hosted a retreat for chapter presidents and other members of chapter executive boards from 134 chapters to meet at Bradford Woods the weekend of January 6.
"It's all about managing people, getting to know people and learning life skills," said Cody Anderson, Baylor '10. "You're going to learn those with ATO."
The weekend was jam-packed full of information to help the newly elected leaders start their term on the right foot. Covering everything from social media presence to how to run a Judicial Board hearing, Presidents Retreats effectively prepares chapter leaders for the year ahead.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of Bradford Woods, the presidents and their executives could really get to work with no outside distractions...except for the #PresRetreat hashtag via twitter, of course.
