Alpha Tau Omega Eta Kappa is a strong chapter. Every brother is a driven leader, and sets high goals. Every goal our chapter sets we accomplish it. After chartering in March of 2011 our chapter has set the goal of winning our first True Merit Award. During the 2011-2012 school year brothers volunteered regularly. Our philanthropy with Popejoy has raised over fifteen thousand dollars, and the Signature Event Arete made another to thousand dollars! The scholarship program created by Michael Sullivan and Sunny Liu has kept the chapter's grades high. Carlos Hernandes planned the chapter's first Formal. Together all the chapter' hard work paid off, and our chapter was awarded its first True Merit! The chapter watched proudly as our president Matthew Liguori accepted the bowl. Winning the True Merit bowl is one of the chapter's greatest accomplishments along with Chartering, and being awarded five stars. When I heard Wynn Smiley announce "Eta Kappa the University of New Mexico" I almost cried.
