ATO Re-Charters at the University of Oregon

On Nov. 5, the National Fraternity initiated 39 men at the re-installation of the Gamma Phi chapter at the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR.

Gamma Phi colonized Feb. 6, 2015. The colony recorded a cumulative 3.2 GPA and was actively involved on campus as resident assistants, orientation leaders, UO Men’s rugby, Oregon Ambassadors, University Government, YoungLife and the Honors College.

“So much hard work has gone into this and not just from myself but the guys around me as well,” said chapter president Adam Herbers, Oregon ’16. “We all put so much heart and soul into this and to see it get to this point and be recognized for that is really special.”

“Finally being able to hold the original charter from 1910 in front of everyone was one of the best feelings,” added chapter vice president Taylor Wood, Oregon ’16.

Several alumni and BOT chairmen were on hand for the ceremony to celebrate Gamma Phi. The chapter now has its sights set high for the future.

“If we don’t get True Merit in two or so years, we are doing something wrong,” Wood said. “That expectation gets our guys who are going to be here during that time really excited to try and achieve that goal.”
