ALPHA TAU OMEGA FOUNDATION 

Job Announcement The Alpha Tau Omega Foundation, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Director of Development. The ATO Foundation, established in 1935 with a bequest from Founder Erskine Mayo Ross, is qualified by the Internal Revenue Code as a 501(c)(3) public charitable foundation. Through the Foundation, Alpha Tau Omega alumni and friends provide tax-deductible support for a variety of scholarships and grants, for the Fraternity and local chapter’s educational, leadership and spiritual programs. 


This full-time position is responsible for:

 • Cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of gift prospects in support of identified Foundation objectives (primarily for the Annual Loyalty Fund);

 • Help implement the annual fund (Loyalty Fund) plan and ensure timelines are followed;

 • Tracking monthly fund-raising progress toward goal achievement and ensuring the preparation of reports on progress toward goals, prospect strategies and prospect contacts;

 • Assisting with the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for acknowledgement of donors and stewardship of gifts.

 • Assist with board relations and recruitment;

 • And, actively participating as a member of the Foundation staff to ensure the achievement of overall goals. 


Prior Experience/Skills:

 • Bachelor’s degree required.

 • Experience in development, fundraising or membership management preferred. Alpha Tau Omega membership preferred.

 • Works well as an aggressive self-starter, in a team environment, and in pressure situations.

 • Proficient in Microsoft Office software with a knowledge and understanding of CRM/database software.

 • Exceptional communication and relationship skills.

For this full-time position, significant travel is required. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
